JiWire Selected by Microsoft to Power Wi-Fi Hotspot Directory
Software Leader to Deploy JiWire Directory Across Wide Range of Desktop and Mobile Software, Internet Properties
SAN FRANCISCO, March 14, 2007 - JiWire, the Wi-Fi 2.0 company, announced today that Microsoft, the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential, has licensed JiWire?s database of Wi-Fi hotspot locations and attributes. The database contains information about more than 143,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in 132 countries and is continually growing. Microsoft has licensed rights to use the database in a number of online and offline properties. The first implementation can be seen at http://hotspot.msn.com.
