Wi-Fi Alliance Selects JiWire to Power its Wi-Fi ZONE™ Finder

As part of the agreement, JiWire will manage the Wi-Fi ZONE database of all hotspot locations that use Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ hardware.

San Francisco, Calif. – November 2, 2005 -JiWire, the leading provider of information and services to help people connect to the Internet without wires, today announced it has been selected by the Wi-Fi Alliance, the global, non-profit Wi-Fi industry association, to power and manage its hotspot directory known as the Wi-Fi ZONE Finder (http://wi-fi.jiwire.com).

The Wi-Fi ZONE Finder is an online database of Wi-Fi ZONE locations around the world that use equipment that has passed rigorous interoperability testing and been designated as Wi-Fi CERTIFIED by the Alliance. The partnership with JiWire gives Wi-Fi Alliance users the ability to search by location, venue type and provider to find a Wi-Fi ZONE hotspot that best meets their needs. Detailed venue information, such as maps, directions, and location amenities, is also provided.

As part of the agreement, JiWire will also manage the Wi-Fi ZONE database of hotspots. This information will be available on both the Wi-Fi ZONE and JiWire websites.
